I do not accept insurance for couples therapy or for sex therapy (individual or couples). Below are my self-pay rates for sex and couples therapy sessions:
Diagnostic Evaluation $145.00
Individual Psychotherapy: 50-minute sessions $135.00
Couples Psychotherapy: 50-minute sessions $155.00
The insurance plans I accept (BCBS of MA-only MA plans, Harvard Pilgrim, and Health New England) limit treatment of certain conditions and must meet medical necessity criteria. It is your responsibility to understand this criteria and to fully understand how your insurance plan works, especially if you have a deductible or high deductible plan. Below are some guiding questions to ask your insurance company before seeking treatment:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits? Who manages the mental health benefits for my plan?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Be sure to indicate you want information about your mental health benefits and not your medical coverage.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay my full fee for psychotherapy sessions--insurance companies do not pay for missed appointments.
